Thomas Tuchel will go down in history as one of the greatest Chelsea managers of all time, according to former Chelsea player Joe Cole, after their Champions League final win against Manchester City.
Tuchel’s Blues side out-fought and out-thought Pep Guardiola’s Premier League champions in the European showpiece at the Estadio do Dragao in Porto on Saturday evening, with Kai Havertz’ first-half goal giving them a 1-0 lead they never gave up.
And Cole hailed the German, who has now won all three of his clashes against Guardiola this season, as among the best Chelsea bosses ever.

He said: ‘The club bring managers in, they sack them. There’s been no club in this country that has won more trophies since Roman came in.
‘We thought Tuchel was one of the brightest young managers in football. He’s going to go down in the folklore of the great managers in the history of this club.’
Fellow pundit Rio Ferdinand added: ‘He’s come into this country. He’s faced Pep Guardiola three times this season, he’s won all three.’

‘What an absolute turn of events. I was backing Man City but Thomas Tuchel has come in and put on a tactical masterclass.
‘Kante put on a masterclass in how to retrieve the ball. He controlled the ball. The moment came, clinical, Havertz is worth every penny now.’
Former City defender Joleon Lescott went on to state that Tuchel has now proved himself to be ‘tactically as good as anyone’.
