Nick Miller has moved into the third place in the first round of the hammer qualifying at the Tokyo Olympics with a mark which will probably see him reach the final.

The Team GB star is competing in Group A alongside Belarusian veteran Ivan Tikhon, 45, with fellow Brit set to participate in Group B, which starts at 2.30am BST.

Commonwealth champion Miller, 28, is the British record holder and his first throw landed out of bounds but he recovered well with his second throw.
