Peaky Blinders Creator Offers An Exciting Update On The Movie

While speaking at a BFI London Film Festival, Steven Knight first confirmed that “Peaky Blinders” Season 6 is not only completely filmed, but the final edit is nearly complete as well. The show’s final season will release in spring 2022 — and, yes, the sixth season will be the show’s last.

“And then I am going to write the feature which will be set in and shot in Birmingham,” Knight revealed during the panel. “And that will probably be the sort of the end of the road for ‘Peaky Blinders’ as we know it.”

After the panel, Knight revealed to Variety more information regarding the specifics of the feature film — specifically that it is set to shoot 18 months from now meaning the film will not begin production until 2023. What that means for when the film will ultimately bow is yet unknown.

Whether or not this is the true end for “Peaky Blinders” is also still up in the air. While the show in its current incarnation is set to conclude, Knight remains interested in exploring other stories within that world going forward.
