‘No Time To Die’ Has Most Profitable ‘James Bond’ Preview Night

Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die has broken the record the previous James Bond films have set at the U.S preview night box office.

It was certain that Daniel Craig’s final outing as James Bond would be successful but not this successful. No Time To Die managed to rack up $6.3 million during its Thursday night previews, besting other James Bond preview nights by a considerable amount. Spectre, which hit cinemas in 2015, walked away with $5.25 million on its preview night. Skyfall, the highest-grossing James Bond film earned $4.6 million in 2012. And Quantum of Solace, the lowest-rated film in Craig’s Bond saga, brought $2.5 million in its previews all the way back in 2008.

No Time To Die has been doing great internationally, having currently racked up just over $121 million in its opening weekend. Stateside, the film is expected to bring in $55-$60 million, though those numbers could easily be considered conservative by some box office pundits. Experts predict another $150 million coming from overseas territories this weekend, resulting in a healthy weekend at the box office for Daniel Craig, who first starred as James Bond in 2006.

Since Black Widow debuted in cinemas this past summer, the box office has been strikingly healthy for blockbusters despite what naysayers have to say. Venom: Let There Be Carnage walked away with $90 million this past weekend, making it the best opening of the pandemic era. James Bond doesn’t hold the same universal and childlike appeal as the likes of Venom or Shang-Chi, but it’s certain that Craig’s final outing as the storied MI6 character will be a profitable one.

Here is the plot synopsis for Daniel Craig’s No Time To Die:

Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. His peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.
