Is Bill Murray Making His MCU Debut In Paul Rudd’s ‘Ant-Man 3’?

All signs point to Bill Murray making his MCU debut in Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.

It’s about time one of the greatest comics joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is currently filming and a recent cast listing indicates that Paull Rudd’s threequel will feature none other than Ghostbusters star Bill Murray. A cast listing from Mandy.com via Cosmic Circus shows a photo double has been cast for the Groundhog Day actor.

It’s unclear who exactly Bill Murray will be playing in the MCU film and if the report is correct. It’s unlikely that Murray will be playing a leading or supporting role in Ant-Man 3, as his role will most probably be akin to a cameo, like Matt Damon’s in Thor: Ragnarok. Nevertheless, it will be exciting to see Murray get in on the shrinking action with Paul Rudd.

Bill Murray is no stranger to joining large productions. He was most recently seen in Zombieland: Double Tap, reprising the fictional version of himself from the first Zombieland. Murray will next be seen as the iconic Dr. Venkman in Ghostbusters: Afterlife, a direct sequel to Ghostbusters II.

Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man was last seen in Avengers: Endgame. Here is the official plot synopsis for the Marvel Studios film:

The grave course of events set in motion by Thanos that wiped out half the universe and fractured the Avengers ranks compels the remaining Avengers to take one final stand in Marvel Studios’ grand conclusion to twenty-two films, “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Avengers: Endgame stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin.

Avengers: Endgame is available on Digital HD, 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, DVD, and streaming on Disney Plus, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania will hit theaters on February 17, 2023.
