Kamaru Usman slams Conor McGregor after Irishman called Jorge Masvidal a ‘b****’ for cancelled fight

‘You cry about injuries more than anyone’: Kamaru Usman slams Conor McGregor after Irishman called Jorge Masvidal a ‘b****’ for pulling out of Leon Edwards clash

  • Jorge Masvidal lost back-to-back fights against champion Kamaru Usman
  • He was set to fight Leon Edwards next, but pulled out with an unknown injury
  • Conor McGregor called Masvidal out on Twitter in a bitter birthday message
  • Usman has hit back at McGregor, but the Irishman had the last word

Kamaru Usman has jumped into the centre of Conor McGregor’s spat with Jorge Masvidal, but may regret entering a slugging match with the Dubliner.

Masvidal slumped to back-to-back defeats against Usman in welterweight UFC title fights – the latest a second-round knockout in April – and has now withdrawn from his December showdown with Leon Edwards due to injury.

The American’s birthday was on November 12, and McGregor had a few words: ‘It’s also Jorge Masvidal’s birthday but he a b**** for bottling the fight against Leon. F*** your “injury”. You sign to fight, you fight.

‘Strip that belt from him that he never even won. H** in a housecoat. The f** was that about as well? Last seasons Versace house coat hahaha,’ Mcgregor added, referencing Masvidal’s manufactured ‘Baddest Motherf***** in the Game’ belt and the robe he wore at ringside for UFC 246.

Usman fired back on Twitter: ‘You should be quiet. You cry about injuries more than anyone after you get your a**whipped. Foot, ankle, shin, what else am I missing?’

McGregor’s three damaging defeats in his last four fights threaten to wreck his UFC legacy, after Khabib Nurmagomedov submitted the Irishman before two sorry defeats against Dustin Poirier.

The former two-weight champion’s fighting career might be hanging by a thread, but he’s still unbeaten on the mic, or keyboard.

Usman cannot shake the ridicule of fight fans for mimicking McGregor’s trash talk in press conferences, with the American even copying the Irishman’s pronunciation, as well as his famous one-liners.

‘Ye you’re missing something bro for sure. Don’t quite know what tho. Originality maybe? I don’t know, something,’ McGregor replied.

‘It’s like, nobody cares. No one cares what the f*** you’re at. And you try so hard too, I just don’t know. Somethings missing for you tho for sure. God bless anyway.’
