Marvel Has Released The Full Version Of The Song From Hawkeye’s Rogers: The Musical

An audio-only version of the “Save the City” song from the first episode of “Hawkeye” is now available on YouTube. While fans got only a few short glimpses of the production in the first episode of “Hawkeye,” the YouTube version features the entirety of the four minute, 27 second song. Marc Shaiman composed the music and wrote the lyrics for “Save the City,” with Scott Wittman also responsible for the latter task (via Marvel).

The lyrics of “Save the City” make numerous references to the actions of the Avengers during the 2012 Battle of New York. These include direct mentions of the nuclear bomb intercepted by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), as well as the two most famous phrases ever spoken by Captain America (Chris Evans): “Avengers assemble” and “I could do this all day.”

New episodes of “Hawkeye” will be released exclusively on Disney+ every Wednesday from November 24 to December 22 (via IMDb).
