His team-mates immediately called for medical assistance and the 30-year-old received 10 minutes of urgent treatment on the pitch at the Madejski Stadium on Tuesday night before being transported to Royal Berkshire Hospital.
After remaining conscious in hospital for around 12 hours, Fleck was released on Wednesday morning and is heading back to Sheffield and will be monitored by the club closely after speaking clearly to the club, medics and his family.

Sky Sports News reported on Tuesday night that Fleck ‘was able to stand with the aid of an oxygen mask’ and was conscious when he left the stadium. However, he still required a stretcher to exit the pitch safely.
Fleck received a standing ovation from the crowd and a round of applause as he was stretchered off the pitch and taken to hospital.
Play resumed shortly after Fleck’s departure – with Conor Hourihane coming on for the midfielder. There were also thirteen minutes of stoppage time added to the game.
Sheffield United managed to hang on to the 1-0 win and to move up to 16th in the table, but branded their support to Fleck as ‘more important’.
