Harry Kane ‘will STILL demand Tottenham exit even if Mauricio Pochettino comes back’

Harry Kane ‘will STILL demand Tottenham exit even if Mauricio Pochettino returns to the the club’ with ‘verbal agreement’ in place with Daniel Levy over summer move

Harry Kane will still insist on walking away from Tottenham and pursuing the next step of his career elsewhere even if Mauricio Pochettino returns to the club, according to reports.

Last month Kane dropped the bombshell that he is ready to leave north London in order to further his career and finally add club silverware to his personal trophy cabinet.

As recently revealed by Sportsmail, Pochettino is now interested in coming back to Spurs this summer after political turmoil at PSG, but fresh reports state Kane has made his mind up on leaving regardless.

Kane, 27, has informed the chairman, Daniel Levy, of his intention to move on and believes they have a verbal agreement from last summer that he will be allowed to do so, despite three years remaining on his contract, according to the Times.

The England captain will continue about his plans to depart even if Pochettino’s reunion with the club comes to fruition.

Kane worked well under Pochettino and developed into one of the best strikers on the planet under the Argentine, with the pair coming close to tasting Champions League glory in 2019.

Spurs lost to Liverpool in the Madrid final, and Kane has since missed out again on the opportunity for silverware after the club were beaten by Manchester City in this season’s Carabao Cup final.

City are now favourites to sign Kane this summer, with the striker understood to be keen to remain in English football.

The Etihad club are seeking a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who was unveiled as a Barcelona player on Monday.

Kane is seen as a more realistic and cost-effective alternative to Norwegian sensation Erling Haaland, who looks set to remain at Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Continuing in the Premier League would enable Kane to continue pressing on with tracking down Alan Shearer’s all-time record goalscoring haul, and the England legend himself has this week backed Kane to dazzle at the European championships.

‘He comes into it after winning the Golden Boot in the World Cup and he’ll also probably come into it on the back of having to sort his future out with Spurs,’ the former Newcastle and England striker said.

‘I went into Euro 96 with Blackburn and of course had the tournament and then had a decision to make myself after it. It sounds like he’s made that decision already. I don’t think that will affect him at all, even if it’s not sorted out, which we don’t think it will be.

‘But with the talent (in the squad), with the added options of our full-backs – whether he plays three or four at the back – then I’m pretty sure that Harry will score goals and will be right up there challenging for that Golden Boot.

‘I’ve no doubt about that. I’m fairly confident of that.’
