Jake Paul set to announce boxing match with former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley

Jake Paul is set to announce that his next fight will be against former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.

YouTube star Paul has become one of the most talked about people in combat sports despite having had just three professional fights.

The latest of those came against former UFC fighter Ben Askren in April with Paul knocking him out just two minutes into the first round.

Jake Paul and former UFC champion Tyron Woodley have agreed to a deal for a boxing match

The Problem Child has become public enemy No 1 in the mixed martial arts world with his comments about the sport and some of its biggest names.

Many UFC stars have called him out but it seems Woodley is the man who will get the chance to silence his fellow American.

The Athletic’s Mike Coppinger claims the fight is agreed to for a date not yet known.

‘Sources: Jake Paul and former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley have agreed to a deal for a boxing match,’ he tweeted on Monday night.

‘Jake recently signed a multi-fight deal with Showtime. Friday face-off in Miami planned to promote the event. Paul coming off first-round KO of Ben Askren.’

Both Paul and Woodley had hinted about the fight on Monday on their social media stories so many thought the bout was a done deal before the report. Paul also revealed the fight will be made official on Tuesday.

‘Fight announcement tomorrow morning. This will be the biggest fight yet x5. This will be the hardest fight I’ve had, the toughest opponent by far, the most known opponent. We will break another boxing PPV record,’ Paul wrote on his Instagram stories.’

Woodley, who was the 170-pound champions between 2016 and 2019, departed the UFC earlier this year following his fourth defeat in a row.
